Michelle Yeung
Born and raised in vibrant Toronto, Ontario. Michelle Yeung’s career launched in the not-for-profit arts sector when she completed the Income Managers Program, a post graduate program in conjunction with the Centre for Cultural Management, University of Waterloo, and the Cultural Careers Council of Ontario. She has been with many arts organization over the last decade including the Resurgence Theatre Company, Shrimp Magnet Theatre Company, The Canadian Stage, Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Factory Theatre, and Tafelmusik. She has been a producer, publicist, marketer, fundraiser and general manager. Michelle is a Certified Fund Raising Executive is currently the Development Manager of Toronto Arts Foundation and manages the individual giving portfolio and its strategic initiative Creative Champions Network. Michelle attended the Ryerson Theatre School, Ryerson University, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Theatre Management in 2003. In 2005, she also completed a Bachelor of Arts at York University with specialized honours in Communications Studies.
Most recently Michelle also completed a Professional Fundraising Certificate at Boston University and executive training at the Ivey Business School’s Leadership Program. In her spare time, she is perfecting her negotiation skills with the help of her toddler, volunteers with Girls(20). She was the former Chair, Board of Directors of Cahoots Theatre Company. She loves to travel and study dance, and immersing herself in culinary experiences. Michelle is inspired by a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism.
