Directrice administrative et Codirectrice générale de L’UniThéâtre depuis 2016, Milane Pridmore-Franz est canadienne-bilingue d’Edmonton, Alberta ayant un parcours professionnel polyvalent ancré pour la plupart dans le domaine culturel et linguistique. Son engagement auprès de L’UniThéâtre remonte à 2012, lorsqu’elle a commencé à créer les surtitres anglais pour la compagnie. Milane est titulaire d’un baccalauréat ès arts (B.A.) en littérature et langues française et allemande et détient ainsi des certificats en traductologie pour chacune de ces langues (Université de l’Alberta, 2013). Elle a poursuivi ses études en traduction et a entrepris une maîtrise (M.A.) en traductologie à l’Université de l’Alberta qu’elle a achevé en 2017. De 2014 à 2015, Milane a effectué un projet de recherche sur la réception des surtitres pour le théâtre financé par le Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines (CRSH), un élément essentiel vers l’achèvement de son mémoire de maîtrise. Membre associé de l’Association des traducteurs et interprètes de l’Alberta (ATIA) depuis 2013, Milane a travaillé pendant plusieurs années en tant que traductrice indépendante. Elle signe deux publications d’articles de recherche, ainsi qu’une traduction d’un livre pour enfants. Outre son expérience en traduction, elle a diverses expériences en administration. Elle a occupé le poste d’Assistante de recrutement pour les Opérations des enquêtes statistiques au département de ressources humaines de Statistique Canada (2012-2013) et fut assistante de recherche au Campus Saint-Jean pour un projet de recherche concernant la formation des enseignants en milieu francophone minoritaire, financé par le CRSH (2015). Elle a aussi assumé d’autres fonctions, telles que l’enseignement du français. Elle siège actuellement aux conseils d’administration de l’Association des compagnies de théâtre de l’Ouest et de la Société francophone des arts visuels de l’Alberta.

Milane has been the Administrative Director and Co-General manager of L’UniThéâtre since 2016. A bilingual Canadian from Edmonton, Alberta, her versatile professional background is mainly anchored in field of language and culture. Milane began working for L’UniThéâtre when she was hired to create the English surtitles for the company in 2012. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language & Literature and German Language & Literature (2013), certificates in Translation Studies for both of these languages (2013), as well as a Master of Arts in Translation Studies (2017) from the University of Alberta. Between 2014-2015, Milane completed a research study on the audience reception of theatre surtitles which was financed by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSRCH)— an essential element towards completing her degree. Associate Member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA) since 2013, Milane has worked for several years as an independent translator. Apart from her experience in translation, she has diverse experience in administration. She was the Statistical Survey Operations Recruitment Assistant for the department of human resources at Statistics Canada (2012-2013) and a research assistant at the Campus Saint-Jean for a project pertaining to teacher training in minority Francophone contexts in Canada, financed by the SSHRC (2015). She has also assumed other roles, such as teaching French. She is currently on the board of directors of the Association des compagnies de théâtre de l’Ouest and the Société francophone des arts visuels de l’Alberta.
